MCP server

GitHub MCP for Dev Tools

The GitHub MCP server lets your AIML.chat agents search code, issues, and pull requests, and open or comment on issues from a conversation — with a human approving every write. It installs from the MCP marketplace in a few clicks and lets your technical agent both answer from your repo and act on it.

What your agents can do with GitHub

Once connected, a technical agent can answer developer questions by reading your actual code, README, and issues — citing the file or thread — instead of guessing. When a user reports a genuine bug, the agent gathers the reproduction details and drafts a clean GitHub issue, ready to open. Reads happen automatically; anything that writes runs through AIML.chat's write-confirm flow, so the agent proposes and a maintainer approves before it touches your repository. Grounded in your own content plus your repo, the agent gives precise, cited answers rather than generic ones, and the analytics surface the questions your docs miss so you know what to write next.

Tools this MCP server exposes

The GitHub MCP server exposes read tools — search code, read a file, search and read issues and pull requests — and write tools — create an issue, comment on an issue or PR, add a label. You decide which repositories and tools each agent may use and scope the connection to least privilege. Read-only tools are safe to enable broadly; write tools always require approval, so nothing lands in your tracker without a maintainer's sign-off.

Connect it in three steps

  1. 1In AIML.chat, open MCP → Marketplace → GitHub and click Install.
  2. 2Authorize with GitHub (OAuth) and scope access to the repositories the agent may use.
  3. 3Attach the GitHub tools to your technical agent and test: ask it to "draft an issue for this bug" and approve the write.

Most teams start with read-only tools to answer accurately, then enable issue creation once they trust the approval flow. You start on a real free tier and scale as usage grows — see pricing for the agent and message limits, and the MCP docs for how write-confirm works. When you're ready, start free.
