We are aiming for AIML.chat's first 10 paying customers without spending on ads, through a free tier that earns the upgrade, distribution where our buyers already are, and a product that solves a real problem well enough that paying for more of it is obvious. Paid acquisition can come later; the first customers should come from value, not spend.

Why not just buy them

Ads can buy signups, but for an early product they buy the wrong lesson. If you pay to acquire your first customers, you learn how to spend money, not whether your product earns its keep on its own merits. We want the first 10 to come from people who found the product, tried it, and chose to pay because it was worth it — because that proves the thing ads cannot: that there is genuine pull. Bootstrapping the first customers from value keeps the feedback honest and the unit economics sane while the product is still finding its footing.

The free tier as the funnel

The free tier is the whole conversion engine. It has to do real work — answer a real site's questions, with citations — so that an owner experiences the value before any payment is asked.
